99% of script backup errors are due to insufficient permissions. A host must
support connecting to a database from the client computer in order to make script backup. Try connecting from SQL Server Management studio first.
Note that Remote backup feature is in
permanent Beta because of the complexity of the task. There's no harm of damaging the existing database during backup, but we can not guarantee your restore 100%. You should try the remote database restore for yourself. SQL 2000 is not supported for remote backups.
