Hello guys,

im testing SQL Backup and FTP and just tried to restore a Database but it does not work... i did run it on same pc where the SQL Server is running and connection to the database is fine (the one-click sql restore test connection to database was fine).

But when i start the restore after 1 second i get following error:

Restore error:

cant match logical files. Invalid object name: sys.sysdatabase, invalid object name: sys.sysaltfiles.

What could cause this error? How can i fix this or find it out?

many thanks

can you restore the .bak file by means of SSMS (not by One-Click Restore)?

I did now successfully create a backup and restore it using the software Simple SQL Backup from http://www.simplesql.net/

but i want to use SQL Backup and FTP... the strange thing is that the One CLICK SQL Restore program gives me the same error message when i open the backup which was created by Simple SQL Backup....

so this seems to be a failure in the One Click SQL Restore app... could anyone please tell me how i can find this out how to solve it? Or can you help me please? I can also give you teamviewer access to my pc.

many thanks

i think it is SQL Server 2000 8.00.760 it is a small SQL Server that came with my Ebay auctions tool named Etope. The SQL Server builts the database for the Etope program and i want to back this up from time to time... any suggestions why the error is coming with One Click SQL Restore but not with that other tool "Simple SQL Backup" ?

I can also give teamviewer access to my pc if that helps... or please let me know what other details you need.

That's the point. One-Click SQL Restore doesn't support such old SQL servers like 2000. In the next release we'll make a small workaround to avoid appearing of such error messages.

Understand that the purpose of One-Click SQL Restore is to speed up the restores in most common scenarios. If it gets any complicated - just use the standard RESTORE DATABASE that works on any .bak file created by SQLBackupAndFTP.

what do you mean by standard restore database ? I dont have any tool on my pc to restore the file... i think in SQL 2000 this was not included... i really hope that One Click SQL Restore will support this old version in next release. I dont want any special features just want to restore....

many thanks
