Hello
I found your application recently and seems to be the right tool for my needs now, I installed the latest version of SBF from your site, everything seems to be working fine, even the FTP utility, all the backup files were copied fine to the remote site, but just to be sure, before buying the licenced key, I tried to restore a database, from a zipped file, and the problem is that I am getting the following error when I'm trying to open the zip file:
Error
Cannot open E:\DBSQL2008\BACKUP\altitux_restoringdb201110160901.zip
Ok
This happens to all the zip files generated after to run the task, acheduled and manual option, if I do not use compression check, the files are able to restore to a database, the problem is only with a zip file, I already tested low and normal compression, even none compression and the issue remains.
I already downloaded and installed the 7zip utility and still not working the opening of this file.
I have running Windows 7 64 bits and SQL Server 2008 R2 express ed. I am looking forward to your answers in order to decide the buying of your product.
Thanks in advance
Jose Clavel

Most probably the file is more that 2GB and Windows can not unzip it. Use 7zip or something similar instead.

Hi
The backup file is not bigger than 2 MB (zipped) and I already tried to open it using 7Zip utility, the error is the same.
But then, I did the test of opening the zip file from another location as you wrote and yes, I can open the zip file and extract the backup file. Also I could restore it into a new database.
This is rare, why could I use it in other location and not in the original computer?
Thanks for your comments and help.

I suspect that this problem relates to user rights for the folder you tried to unzip from

Thank you mikeshilov, it was a permission!.
I reinitiate the SqlBackupAndFtp service configured with a special account with the adecuate user rights over the backup directory and it's working well and I can open the zipped files without any problem.
The tool is terrific, I will be running some other tests over the tool but I'll definitely buy it.
Thank you again!
