I installed the latest version of you program. When connecting to another server on our network, it says that the feature is in Beta and to use at our own risk. What potential harm might this do to my remote SQL Server?

Remote backup is in permanent Beta because we can not guarantee your restore 100% - that's the risk we are talking about. You should try the restore for yourself. Use Remote only if Local installation is not possible. To the best of our knowledge there's nothing that could damage your server during backup
